04 Mar Tech London Advocates launches Triage service for City’s early stage startups

Tech London Advocates, the independent, private sector advocacy group has today opened the doors to its TechHub@Campus based Triage service. Offering London’s early stage Startups the opportunity to benefit from the collective skills of some of the industries leading figures.

Over 120 Advocates have committed to offering their time for one hour per month to benefit entrepreneurs and startup businesses that are looking for advice on any area of business processes, from funding and tax enquiries to advice on marketing and recruitment.

Mentors and businesses will be matched up via the Triage desk, which will be located in TechHub@Campus every weekday between 9am and 1pm.

The no-appointment service will be staffed by a further 20 volunteer Advocates who will assess the requirements of the early stage entrepreneurs, who may have the most basic of questions about getting their business off the ground, and then book them in with an hour-long slot with the next available and most appropriate mentor.

“Triage is one of the most tangible ways in which Tech London Advocates can help early stage ventures get off the ground. We will be offering practical hands on help to these firms, with the aim of providing 2,000 hours of free advice during our first year” commented Russ Shaw, founder of Tech London Advocates.

The Triage desk will be available from Tuesday 4th March and there is no booking required but people wishing to use the service are asked to register via www.techlondonadvocates.com in advance of visiting TechHub.

“We are lucky enough to have an incredible pool of ready and willing advocates from organisations, including Unruly Media, AirBnB and SeedCamp, who have volunteered their time to help London’s newest businesses to get the best possible start,” said James Clark, policy manager, BVCA and Triage Lead for Tech London Advocates.

“The earliest stages of starting a business can be a daunting process and with the breadth of skills and expertise available across the Advocate group its our intention that the service will reduce some of these concerns and give London’s startup community the best opportunity to succeed. “

The Triage service will be located in TechHub@Campus, 4-5 Bunhill Street, London, EC2A 4BX.
