16 Jul How Tech London Advocates are supporting tech’s hottest new sector
Since The Mayor of London’s launch of MedCity in April, Health Tech has been one of the hottest topics for London’s Technology Sector.
The £4.1m partnership – between health and academic institutions, the cities of Oxford and Cambridge and the Greater London Authority – will result in a world-beating health technology ‘golden triangle’ across the South-East.
Driven by the Health Tech working group, a number of Advocates are already very active in spearheading initiatives to promote Health Tech in the capital.
The working group is actively engaged with tech entrepreneurs within the fitness, health and wellbeing markets. It has ambitious targets to help two-thirds of London’s Health Tech startups, and offers a voice for these businesses to highlight the importance of Health Tech to the Government and NHS.
Furthermore a number of the Working Group’s exciting and highly innovative health events have helped bring health tech to the forefront of the Tech London Advocates agenda.
Throughout the spring and summer our TLA HealthTech competition has seen twenty committed Advocates mentor a number of Health Tech startups. The startups competed against each other for the opportunity to speak in front of investors, company founders and tech experts at the next TLA event this autumn.
With the rise of wearable technology and big data health technology insights, the sector is entering a highly exciting new phase.
