The Venture Capital working group is dedicated to helping London’s tech industry and its leaders in accelerating the city’s rise as a world-leading hub by providing information and advice on how best to engage and leverage the venture and investor community
Launched at Investor Showcase 2.0 in May 2019, the group seeks to deliver against the following objectives:
- Champion London’s venture capital sector and its impact on the rise of the digital economy in the UK and Europe as well as provide perspectives on the ecosystem
- Connect investors with various communities and tech verticals within Tech London Advocates to provide insights and opinions in order to assist the entrepreneurial journey.
The group works with other TLA working groups such as TLA Women in Tech, TLA Retail and TLA Scaleup to help founders and entrepreneurs in those groups with an understanding of the investor mindset and how best to engage with investors.
The group will also endeavour to raise the profile of startups and scaleups that have successful investment rounds and provide perspectives on the ecosystem.
The group has held investor-themed dinners and meetups and in 2019-20 and organised a successful ‘UK-Japan Investor Bridge’ to assist investor understanding of the startup and scaleup opportunities in the two markets (in conjunction with Tech Japan Advocates).
Please contact the working group leaders if you would like to be involved in any of the activities planned.
