Our Objectives

In May 2018, British Airways will launch a direct flight from Nashville, TN to London Heathrow. In celebration of this new connection, TLA Nashville will work to enhance existing strong links, and add new ones, between the London tech ecosystem and the Nashville tech ecosystem.

Designed to foster international business development between London and Nashville,  TLA Nashville will operate these major key objectives:

1) To promote both Nashville-based and British businesses with a special emphasis on music-tech and healthcare

2) To facilitate the movement of advocates between the two ecosystems and provide introductions and guidance for those operating in Nashville and London

3) To promote and support events, investments, and activities that may be of mutual interest to members on both sides of the ocean

4) To grow the Tech London Advocates community from within the greater South–Eastern United States

  • Launch of TLA Nashville on 9 May at the Jack & Gin Nashville Night event hosted by London and Partners, Tech.London, Nashville Chamber of Commerce, Nashville Tech Council, and Baker Donelson
  • 3 ‘Meet the Corporate’ Events to be announced
  • Actively working with London & Partners towards a trade mission between London and Nashville hopefully to be scheduled for Fall 2018

– Nashville welcomes more than 14.5 million visitors each year- not bad for a city of less than 700,000!

– The density of the music industry in Nashville is 20x-30x Los Angeles or New York

– Healthcare contributes more than $38.8 billion annually to the Nashville economy

– The city’s health-tech innovators attracted more than $1.5 billion of venture capital in the past 10 years, accounting for 60% of all VC there

– It is the only market in the U.S. that increased its hotel pipeline in the first quarter of 2018, with 15 new hotels opening this year and 85 more in planning or construction

– Dubbed “Music City” and “It City,” Nashville attractions include the Country Music Hall of Fame, Ryman Auditorium (home of the Grand Ole Opry), the Parthenon (a full-size replica of the Greek building), The Hermitage (the mansion home of America’s 7th President, Andrew Jackson), whiskey distilleries, historic parks, and more

– Nashville is home to the Tennessee Titans (an American football team playing in the 2018 NFL International Series in London) and the Nashville Predators (National Hockey League); from 2020, the city will also host a hometown soccer team which will play in the MLS
