As a very short overview of the report

 

The Tech London Advocates Blockchain Legal and Regulatory Group is producing a report with the Law Society to assist legal practitioners when advising clients on various matters associated with distributed ledger technology. The guidance will set out (among other things): best practice guidelines for legal practitioners to consider when working on transactions involving Smart Legal Contracts and solutions to anticipated problems; and best practice guidelines to consider when advising clients on joining a blockchain consortium. In addition to these guidelines, the guidance will also set out a few key issues to consider when considering matters such as commercial applications, data protection, intellectual property, dispute resolution and cryptoassets and where further guidance is needed from regulatory authorities or other bodies
