Key Objectives

– Create a community within TLA for businesses and experts to share knowledge, insight and proof points about successful corporate venturing, development of in-house startups, and corporate entrepreneurship in the UK.

– Create opportunities to share knowledge amongst C-suite executives responsible for strategic decision making on corporate venturing.

– Be the number one port of call for large UK businesses wanting to develop Corporate Venturing capabilities.

Highlights of 2014

The Corporate Venturing group was founded in 2014, kicking off with an exclusive event focusing on “Corporate Entrepreneurship in Action”. Hosted by James Hurley (Enterprise Editor of The Times), the breakfast session, hosted at Barclays Tech Stars Lab in East London showcased best of breed examples from the UK (telefonica, Barclays & BGL) to show how successful businesses are already operating in the space. The event was attended by 75 Tech London Advocates.

A podcast of the session can be downloaded for free.

Planned activity for 2015

Building on 2014, we’re developing a series of events aimed at Strategic Decision makers in big business. These sessions will focus on delivering the most up to date knowledge and insight from businesses that are already successfully delivering their Corporate Entrepreneurship agenda, and will build a UK wide support network of like-minded C-Suite execs.

Next event is to be a small dinner in May 2015, hosted by Vodafone Xone and with limited space is by invitation only.
