Key Objectives

– Educate companies that want to do business in Russia or invest into Russian startups
– Promote tech talent from Russia and connect it with the opportunities in the UK
– Support students from Russia and CIS countries who want to start business in the UK
– Support students from the UK who want to experience the startup scene in Russia and CIS
– Share best practices of running UK tech ecosystems with the key players in Russian tech scene by bringing great experts, investors and entrepreneurs from the UK to Russia
– Bring awareness of many different industry sectors in Russia and engage with universities and institutions that facilitate research in those areas

Planned activity for 2017

– Participate in Russian Business Week 2017, organized by LSE SU Russian Business & Culture Society (Feb 17-18; 24-25)
– TLA Russia launch event in partnership with RUTECH startups community (March 22, TBC)
– Tech talent movement: Immigration post Brexit or how to get visa for Russian startups? (April/May, in association with TLA Immigration TBC)
– RuTech Day as part of London Tech Week 2017 presents leading IT experts, successful startups that have expended beyond Russia, accompanied by the showcase of the greatest Russian startups (June 12, TBC)
– Run a number of RuTech clinics and workshops on helping with visa, startup support, expanding business in Russia
– RuTech Students summer incubator programme to support students’ business ideas and help them with Graduate Entrepreneurs Visa application (July-Aug)
– Industry specific events to promote Russian leading tech sectors (Sept-Dec)
– Bring UK tech delegates to Moscow, introduce Russian key representatives in startup ecosystem and run a number of workshops/mentors sessions for Russian startups (Oct-Nov)
– Wrap up event of 2017 – reflecting and setting new goals (Dec)
– Old New Year networking and setting new goals for 2018 (Jan 13, 2018)
